Tucked into the quiet town of Queluz, just west of Lisbon, the White House sits within easy reach of the magnificent National Palace of Queluz, one of Portugal's finest examples of baroque architecture and a landmark that draws visitors from across Europe. The town itself has a relaxed, residential character that makes a pleasant contrast to the bustle of the capital, and the hotel fits naturally into that unhurried atmosphere. It is a modest, three-star property without grand ambitions, but it offers something genuinely useful for travellers who prefer space and independence over the standard hotel-room experience. The White House's standout offering is its two-bedroom apartment accommodation, which provides considerably more room than a typical hotel stay. Guests have access to a living area and a fully equipped kitchen, making self-catering a real option for those who want flexibility around mealtimes. When cooking feels like too much effort, there is an on-site restaurant to fall back on. A swimming pool adds a welcome touch of comfort, particularly during Portugal's warm summer months, and free WiFi and on-site parking round out the practical essentials without fuss. This property is best suited to small families, travelling couples sharing costs, or anyone planning an extended stay who wants the convenience of apartment-style living without committing to a full rental. Lisbon city centre is reachable in well under half an hour by car, making the White House a sensible base for day trips into the capital while returning each evening to quieter surroundings. Solo business travellers may find it less ideal, but for those who value extra space and a slower pace, it represents a reasonable and practical choice in this corner of the Lisbon region.
Who stays here
Couples
Spacious apartments suit longer stays, but modest ratings and quiet location may underwhelm romantic getaways.
Solo travellers
Two-bedroom apartments are oversized for solo travellers, though the quiet setting and pool offer relaxation.
Families
Two-bedroom apartments, pool, parking, and a restaurant make this a practical, affordable base for families.
Business travellers
Quiet suburban location lacks business amenities; no meeting facilities and limited guest ratings reduce appeal.

The location is ideal and it's very clean. We loved the large terrace and the little welcome gifts. Excellent value for money.

The mattresses are great and it's so quiet. They have two fans, which isn't mentioned in the ad. And I have to say, we were greeted by a very friendly guy.

I don't expect luxury in an apartment, but I do expect a minimum of amenities in decent condition. Here's a detailed description of the state I found it in. Kitchen: There was no coffee maker, the frying pan is unusable, the freezer drawers are broken, be careful with the trim separating the kitchen floor from the hallway floor because it's broken and peeling, the sink is clogged, and the view from the window to the right is terrible, with dog feces everywhere. Bathroom: The drains in both the shower and the sink are clogged, which is why it smells bad, and be careful with the toilet seat because it's loose. It moves from side to side, and it's extremely uncomfortable when you sit down. It seems like they put on a seat that's not compatible with that toilet. Living room: The sofa bed is a chaise lounge, and when you pull out what's supposed to become a bed, it doesn't fit; it stays loose. So it's best not to risk it and sleep on the regular sofa. It's a second-floor apartment with no elevator, and you also have to access the building entrance via stairs that are in poor condition and dangerous. The neighborhood is dirty, and parking is difficult. Even after all this, I left the apartment clean and tidy, as I always do when I travel. After my experience, I can't understand how this apartment has some of the reviews I've read. I also have to say that communication with them in the days leading up to my arrival was nonexistent. They contacted me on the day of my arrival to remind me that I had to return the deposit. They returned the deposit to me today without any problem. Of course, I do not recommend this apartment.
