The situation

It needs remodeling; everything is a bit old, there's a strong smell of damp and sewage, but it's okay. The owners are very friendly and kind.

Liked

The house is large with many bedrooms and three bathrooms; there's a lovely rooftop terrace, a swimming pool (which we didn't use as it was out of season), and a garden. Overall, it's perfectly adequate for a short stay in Colmenar Viejo.

Disliked

I think with a small investment, things could be much better. The sheets had holes, for example. Several parts of the house could be repainted, and all the pans had damaged Teflon coating (which isn't healthy). The kitchen table also had a plastic tablecloth with holes, and the table wasn't suitable for nine people; even for seven, it was a tight fit. These aren't major expenses, but they would greatly improve the experience.

Liked

The hosts were very friendly and, despite the language barrier, very helpful. The beds were very comfortable. The rooms were a good size, and the living room and kitchen were very spacious. There were at least three bathrooms. There was a pool. There were no charges for Wi-Fi.

Disliked

Unfortunately, the house is very old and run-down. The hairdryer was broken, and the dishes were mismatched and chipped. The same applies to the interior furnishings, the pool, and the kitchen appliances.

Property a bit outdated and would benefit from air conditioning - heat unbearable in August - we had to purchase an extra fan. Some aspects of the property require a serious deep clean.
