It was very damp and cold in the lower part of the house, the kitchen and living room, and it couldn't be ventilated because there were no windows. The firewood, although we didn't use it because it was summer, was damp and full of mold, which created humidity and a musty smell. It should be kept outside the house at least until it was dry. Furthermore, there were steep stairs to climb to access the bedrooms and bathroom. Luckily, we don't have mobility issues, but it's a detail that should be noted for people with reduced mobility.
