About Budapest

Budapest is two cities in one — Buda, hilly and historic on the western bank of the Danube, and Pest, flat and energetic on the eastern side. Together they form one of Europe's most dramatic capitals, where grand neo-Gothic parliament buildings and Ottoman-era thermal baths sit alongside a raucous ruin-bar scene that makes the city one of the continent's top nightlife destinations.

Hotels range from the restored grandeur of the Gellért or the New York Palace to a wave of smart boutique options in the Jewish Quarter and along the Danube promenade. Prices remain significantly lower than comparable rooms in Western Europe, making Budapest an outstanding value destination.
